September 13, 2013 – On Monday, September 9, the Swedish Cross-Country team continued with another joint training camp in middle Europe. “There are heavy and very important training months ahead of us,” said Swedish head coach Rikard Grip. “The women’s team is at a training camp in Ramsau, Austria where they can combine dry land training and skiing on the glacier.”

The men’s squad is located in Toblach, Italy – the South Tyrol resort offers perfect training conditions not only during the winter but also in the summer. “I was there during the summer. There is a great roller skiing course. We have what we need to carry out all training sessions we have planned,” explained Grip.

The distance cross-country team is right on the track continued the head coach. “Tests in the Winter Sport Centre Östersund showed that the A team skiers have done their summer job. The values we got gave us assurance that the summer work has had a desired effect,” revealed Grip .

The coaching staff Mats Larsson, Mattias Persson and Johan Granath returned a few days ago from an inspection of the Olympic venues in Sochi. “We will inform our skiers about what we saw and heard. I think it will be an extra boost for them before the Olympic flame is lit,” added Grip.
