Their company, named First Beat, is a leading heart rate beat analysis that offers vital information based upon heart rate variability. With First Beat, athletes can measure data on things like stress, recovery and their effect on physical training, and more people are talking about recovery now more than ever.

Joe Galanes, a Brattleboro, Vermont native, was a member of the US Ski Team, the 1988 Olympic Winter Games team for the US that skied in Calgary and was a four-time All American at UVM. Following his skiing career, he graduated from Vermont Law School and is currently an attorney in Vermont.

Peter sat down with Joe last week to chat about this fascinating new advancement for endurance sport.
