November 9, 2008 (Barrie, ON) – This is the third year for the Team Hardwood Masters Program. The program will be based on the same foundation as the Devo Squad, including similar training plans and methods, on-line monitoring of training, lactate testing and waxing information. The goal for this year is the Canadian Masters Championships in North Bay and major loppets like the Gatineau Loppet and the Fischer Loppet.

Masters Gold
This program is designed for the skier looking to have the top level of support for their racing goals. This program appeals to the skier looking to race competitively or those looking to improve both fitness and technique. The Gold program will include an individualized training plan with online monitoring via ilog. Workouts will be held most weekends from October until the end of the ski season. Occasional summer ‘mini camps’ will be organized around the key phases of the training program. The potential exists for summer training at Hardwood Ski and Bike. Race support will also be available at the Canadian Masters and selected loppets.

Fees:
– Coaching: $1000 (11 months, May 07 – Mar 08)
– Ilog account: $25
Lactate testing:
– individual testing 1 – $75 2 – $125 4 – $ 175
– group testing $ 40 (groups of 2-3)

New for 2008-09 – Masters Silver Program
The Masters Silver program is designed for the skier looking to improve their fitness and technique with a goal of reaching a personal best in local loppets and races. The program is also ideal for mountain bikers, road cyclists, triathletes and runners who would like to stay fit during the winter. The program includes weekend training and technique sessions along with individualized training and peaking programs for the winter. There will also be sessions on waxing and equipment.

– Coaching: $500 (November 07 to March 08)

Both programs will meet on Saturday and Sunday am starting at 9:30 am until there is snow. After that time the groups will meet at 8:30 am.
