A New Team – A New Look!

A new year and new look! Team X-C.com is now Canada’s ONLY Elite Ski Marathon Team. This year’s crop of skiers is comprised of a great mix of young and motivated skiers that will provide your product with the highest level of exposure.

After 4 years of growth, the X-C.com Racing Program now represents the best products within the industry’s Nordic manufacturers. Another great addition to the program is our new 20ft DC Energy Services trailer – a custom modified Nordic Demo and Service centre that is the only one of its kind in Canada!

Silver Star Early Snow Camp Report

With Silver Star Mountain Resort on board as X-C.com’s Signature early season destination resort, the team took advantage of some great accommodations and stellar conditions to fine tune their preparation for the World Cup selection races. With new gear and a new look, we called up the resident photographer Morten Byskov to take a few shots to inaugurate the 2005-06 season.


X-C.com’s Ivan Babikov Nominated to National Ski Team

After 2 1/2 years in the X-C.com program, Ivan Babikov, the ‘Russian Rocket’, was nominated to Canada’s National Ski Team program and integrated in Team 2010 on the eve of the Canmore, Alberta Canada Cup. Ivan’s integration has been one of x-c.com’s goals since he stepped foot in Canada and is great promotion for our program’s development component.

This integration will now allow him to progress even faster on the international racing scene. Ivan is a landed immigrant with permanent resident status and is awaiting citizenship. Until then, he will continue to race as a ‘Russian’ with a Russian FIS license but bare the colours of our National Ski Team.


World Cup Fever:

Babikov on Fire!

Ivan Babikov didn’t waste any time proving to everyone that he deserved to be on the World Cup circuit. In his first 3 WC starts, Ivan posted:
14th: 30km Pursuit (15km Classic + 15km Skate)
4th: 15km Skate Individual Start
18th: 30km Classic Mass Start

Swanson and Kuhn Compete in first World Cups!

After a great 10 days of skiing at Silver Star Mountain Resort, X-C.com team members were off and skiing in their first major event of the season – Haywood Securities Canada Cup: Canada’s Elite Racing Circuit – at the Sovereign Lakes Nordic Centre. Skiers only had one weekend of racing to fine tune their engines as the next weekend’s races in Canmore, Alberta were the key selection races for both Canadian World Cup events.


Salomon Marathon Cup Series:

Back again for its second year is the Salomon Marathon Cup Series, a compilation of Canada’s 10 most prestigious events. The MCS is still in its early stages but it already has demonstrated its potential in becoming the best Nordic marketing tool.

X-C.com’s goal for 2006 will be to promote your products to over 10,000 MCS event participants as well as countless Nordic enthusiasts. These ‘consumers’ will be offered the opportunity to participate in various X-C.com sponsor activities within every MCS events.
