bewitching rhythms of percussion, brass and guitars cast a spell over Le
Massif de Petite-Rivière-Saint-François at the notorious Reggae Bash  a
not-to-be-missed event on your spring calendar!

Bob Marley’s spirit lives on, wrapping the mountain from summit to base
in a celebration full of festivities. Outdoor entertainment, terraces and
the heavenly smell of barbecues all are part of a special set-up at the
base of the mountain, where visitors are invited to join in the beat, and
bring their own percussions!

When the clock strikes twelve at the special outdoor site, band
performances begin with skiers and boarders tripping to their heart s
delight. Trip The Off and their mesmerizing tempos captivate wide
audiences, harmonizing punk’s social awareness with the warm rhythms of
reggae and ska music. The band’s reputation rests on their unusually high
level of energy everyone dances, has fun and forgets the day to day
routine!

At après-ski time, the party continues at the Summit Pub, with a band
called Syncop, winners of the 2003 Francouvertes. A crossroads of
influences and diversified musical sensibilities, Syncop is extremely
popular among those who love to move and sway to great reggae, raï and
hip-hop mixes backed with solid lyrics. With Les gens du voyage, Syncop
invites fans on a contagiously fun trip where the power of their music
expresses itself best. They share the Pub stage with Mama Africa, a hot
group of professional percussionists hailing from Montreal, who promise to
keep the crowd buzzing for hours on end.
