April 08, 2011 (Inari, Finland) – The second Tour de Barents is underway in Finland after skiers completed the first stage 10/15km Classic in Tana Norway. Petra Majdic (SLO) and Maurice Manicat (FRA) took top honours in the initial stage, while Jean-Marc Gaillard (FRA) grabbed victory in Stage 2’s 15km mass start free technique race, assuming the overall tour lead in the process. In Stage 2 of the women’s competition, Majdic extended her lead with a second win in the 10km mass start free race.
