Tour de Ski 2018 Update – Stage 4 Cancelled Due to Severe Weather

release by FIS XC

January 03, 2018 (Oberstdorf, Germany) – Today’s 4th stage of the Veissmann FIS Tour de Ski performance by Le Gruyère has been cancelled due to severe weather.  Heavy rain and strong winds made the competition course not safe for the athletes.  The competition has halted after the ladies’ prologue before the men began.  The ladies’ sprint qualification times will not count towards the Tour de Ski but will count for FIS points.

Discussions continue between the FIS Jury and the local Organizing Committee in Oberstdorf, regarding damage to the courses to be used from tomorrow’s mass start competitions.

*Correction – Only FIS points will be given not FIS World Cup points as previously written.

More details will be provided as they become available.
