U-23 World Champion Returns To Bolton Valley, VT

March 19 – U-23 World Champion and former UVM standout, Kris Freeman, returns from the cross-country World Cup circuit to give a clinic and race in the Banknorth Eastern State Championships at Bolton Valley this weekend.

Freeman, who won the first U-23 World Championship last year, and placed fourth in the 15K classic at the 2003 World Championships, returns to the courses where he trained when he was skiing for UVM.  Friday, March 19th at 4:00 p.m., at the Bolton Valley Nordic Center, he will be giving a ski clinic.

He will race in the Banknorth Eastern State Championship races – a 10K freestyle race and 2x1K relay on Saturday, and a 20K classic race on Sunday.  Other racers competing include David Chamberlain (Bethel, ME), winner of the USSA SuperTour, The Rossignol Team – Eli Enman (Huntington, VT) and former Olympian, Marc Gilbertson (Hyde Park, VT), and three-time Olympian and former Middlebury College x-c running champion, Dorcas Wonsavage. The Banknorth ESC will determine the NENSA Masters, Club, and Eastern Cup Champions with prizes contributed by L.L. Bean.
