November 13, 2008 (Park City , Utah) – At the end of the last season when the USA’s Bill Demong took third place in the World Cup Nordic Combined overall standings, he became the first American ever to accomplish that feat. The previous best was fourth in the sport which has been dominated by Europeans.

On his way to third place overall Demong recorded six podium finishes including a World Cup win. Now fitter than ever heading into the 2008-09 season Demong has his sights set on a podium spot at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, an achievement that no American has ever accomplished.
