US Ski Jumping Launches Fundraising Project

release by USASJ

November 18, 2010 (Park City, UT) – The United States Ski Jumping (USASJ) has officially launched the Getting USASJ to the Start Bar one-time fundraising project. The goal of Getting USASJ to the Start Bar is to raise $100,000 to cover the start-up costs associated with hiring well-known Shamrock Sports Group to secure sponsors and winning partnerships for USASJ until the revenue generated is sufficient to fund USASJ’s and Shamrock’s activities.

In October, USASJ announced that it signed a three-year sports marketing contract with Shamrock that will run through the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, RUS.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Shamrock to build long-term partnerships with global brands to fund consistent and sustainable jumping programs that will lift our athletes to the podium” said, former US Olympic Ski Team athlete, now leader of the Friends of USASJ fundraising efforts, Matt Petri. “USASJ has concluded that in order to fully realize our mission and long-term goals, we must raise significantly more money than individual donations have generated in the past.”

To raise these start-up funds, members of the USASJ Board of Directors are soliciting one-time gifts from core supporters of the sport of ski jumping.

To get the fundraising effort off to a flying start, Directors and USASJ volunteers have already pledged over $20,000 to Getting USASJ to the Start Bar.

Getting USASJ to the Start Bar is accepting tax-deductible donations by check only. Checks should be made out to Ski Jumping Development USA, Inc.* and mailed to: Attention: Walter Malmquist, 2727 Wild Hill Road, Bradford, VT 05033.

* Ski Jumping Development USA, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
