November 30, 2010 (Forêt Montmorency, QC) – The USCAN Cup races took place this past weekend in Forêt Montmorency, Quebec, but due to insufficient snow, the full 5/10km distance races were replaced by 1km Classic sprints on Saturday and shortened 4/6km Freestyle races on Sunday. A large contingent of US college skiers were in the mix.

Caitlain Patterson (UVM SKI TEAM) and Vincent Ruel (Skibec Nordique) were the big winners in the University Women’s and Men’s 1km Classic Sprints on Saturday, while Camille Pepin and Etienne Richard took top honours in the Open Women’s and Men’s races, respectively.

In Sunday’s 4/6km freestyle races, Patterson was on top again in the University Women’s category, while Scott Patterson (UVM SKI TEAM) cruised to victory in the University Men’s competition. Annie Boisvert (Club Nordique MSA) and Aidan Lennie (Nakkertok) topped the podium in the Senior Women’s and Men’s categories, respectively.
