October 04, 2010 – During this World Cup season, the total prize money from the first to the last event amounts to 3.125 million CHF ($3.125 US). For a win in a World Cup event, 15,000 CHF are awarded and a total of 40,000 CHF will be distributed for the top ten. In addition to World Cup prize money, the top athletes at the Nordic World Championships will also receive prize money for the first time. All in all, that makes 440,000 CHF to be paid out for the 12 Cross-Country events at the upcoming FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.
