-Chandra Crawford – NST/Canmore Nordic
-Drew Goldsack – NST/Rocky Mountain Racers
-Devon Kershaw – NST/Ona-Wa-Su

SELECTION SYNOPSIS

Overview
1. Trip objectives: The trip objectives are podium and top 12 results. 2. Trip eligibility standards: These were defined in the criteria as top 20 in a World Championship event or placing in the top-12 in an individual World Cup sprint event at the World Championships. The criteria also allowed for consideration of exceptional ranking in team events and review of the leaders of the Noram Continental Cup in Canada.

Selection Process

The following athletes were nominated for selection to the March World Cup in accordance with 11.5 of the criteria.

1. 11.5.a: Chandra Crawford and Devon Kershaw were pre-selected for having placed in the top 20 in World Cup events in the 2006/07 season prior to the World Championships.
2. 11.5.c: Drew Goldsack was selected for his 6th place result (partnered with Devon Kershaw) in the team sprint at the World Championship. This result clearly demonstrated podium potential.
Other Considerations

The selection committee did not find any other athletes who met the selection criteria in the team or individual events. The Canadian Continental Cup leaders were discussed under 11.5.d of the criteria. The leaders of this series, Tasha Betcherman and Dave Nighbor were not considered for selection as Tasha is not World Cup eligible according to FIS standards at this time and Dave Nighbor is competing at the U23 World Championships.
