November 9, 2005 – Cross Country Ski Areas Association has had a great reception to the suggestion that member areas support U.S. Ski Team Day. 29 areas have already signed up by November 9th. Participants will donate $1 of each trail ticket sold on February 11th, 2006, to support Ski Team athletes. The money goes directly to U.S.S.T. as a whole (Nordic, Alpine, and Snowboarding) rather than to United States Ski and Snowboard Association. Areas will be listed on a U.S. Ski Team Day website. The Team will promote the event in its NBC & OLN TV shows beginning in December, as part of its “10 Weeks to Torino” pre-Olympic promotion. It will also distribute national news releases and include promotion in special advertorial sections in Newsweek and several downhill magazines. (The offer is also open to alpine areas.)

Participants have the right to co-brand with the Team logo and use both logo and trademark to help draw skiers. Areas also get special advertising elements and promotional collateral templates. Sign-ups close December 1.
