May 12, 2012 (Stockholm, ME) – The Ydalir Award, a two-year scholarship for Maine Nordic ski racers attending accredited U.S. universities and colleges, is accepting applications for the 2012-2014 award period. The award is aimed at Nordic ski racers who strive to push themselves both academically and athletically.
Up to $7,500 will be awarded annually. Applicants should be actively forwarding a Nordic racing career at the NCAA, USCSA, FIS or IBU level while maintaining a minimum 3.2 GPA.
To apply, scholar/athletes should answer the following question: “How does a successful ski racing career improve our society?”
Please include an answer of less than 900 words, a cover letter, high school or college transcripts, a recommendation from your coach, a recommendation from a teacher or professor, and your current federal financial aid forms. Application deadline is May 15, 2012.
