Yoko Becomes the Official Ski Pole of the American Birkie

February 16, 2013 – Alpina Sports, the US distributor of Yoko, proudly announces that Yoko as the official ski pole sponsor of the American Birkebeiner. “We are very excited to partner up with such a great event as the Birkie, and we look forward to build a strong and solid relationship with the US skiing community over the next years,” says CEO of Yoko, Jani Gustafsson.

In partnership with FinnSisu, the week will kick off on Saturday with a free demo at the Les Bolstad Golf Course, University of Minnesota in St. Paul. Here you can try the top level race poles from Yoko, the new Elite Skate Pro boots from Alpina, along with all other equipment you need for a great day on the trail. All for free. The demo starts at 10am and goes on until 4pm, followed by a tailgate outside FinnSisu.

Starting on Saturday, customers are able to secure the 9100 top racing pole for only $199, available at Finn Sisu and at the Birkie Expo on Thursday and Friday of next week. Yoko has also made custom Birkie carbon poles and will be stationed at the start and along the Birkie race course with pole replacement stations, to help anyone with a broken pole.
